The Results of Interregional Journalists Competition are Summed Up


The «Versivo» association announced the winners of the competition among journalists working in regional print mass media of the Volga region. The first prize was given to Anna Yurkova from «Gorod N-sk» Newspaper, the City of Novokuibyshevsk. The competition «People of Russia» was announced in spring 2006. Journalists from more than 20 newspapers and magazines of the Volga Region sent their articles to the jury in summer 2006. The representatives from the Samara, Saratov, Penza, Nizhniy Novgorod and Orenburg regions were the most active. The jury members were Alexey Dolmatov, the president of the «Versivo» Association, Viktor Sazonov, the Chairman of the Samara Municipal Duma, Andrey Kolyadin, the head of Department for Information Policy and Cooperation with Civic Society Institutions of Samara Regional Government, Irina Tsvetkova, the chairman of Samara Regional Organization of Russian Union of journalists, and Andrey Fedotov, the general director of the «Commersant» Ltd. in Samara. «The title of the competition „People of Russia“ speaks for itself. The focus was on a man of action, his work, his ability and wish to have positive influence on the current social situation regardless of his social status», — Irina Tsvetkova said. The jury found it very difficult to select the best work because all the participants demonstrated excellent skills. «We decided that every jury member would select several participants in order to see which name was chosen most frequently» — V. Sazonov remarked. The jury also praised the articles of Alexey Golyakov from Saratov, Kseniya Vdovinkina, Vladimir Verzhbovskiy and Mriya Pavlikhina from Penza, Vladimir Leontiev, Olga Polezhaeva from Novokuibyshevsk and Olga Shcherbakova from Samara. Each of them were rewarded with a Diploma and souvenirs. The Versivo Association awarded the winner, Anna Yurkova, a prize of 100,000 rubles.
